Study Of An Investigational Drug For Covid-19 For People With Severely Compromised Immune Systems

Description

Seeking adults who have a severely compromised immune system (such as having had an organ transplant or having a blood cancer) and are within the first five days of a COVID-19 infection for a study of an investigational drug.

Overview

Participants in this study will be randomly assigned to get either the investigational drug tablets alone, the investigational drug tablets and IV remdesivir infusions, or IV remdesivir infusions and a placebo (looks like the investigational drug but contains no medicine). There will be up to 11 study visits, most of which will be in the first 40 days.

What we're hoping for

We are studying if an investigational drug called ibuzatrelvir prevents COVID-19 from multiplying in cells and spreading around the body and helps people who have a severely compromised immune system to get better and stay out of the hospital.
