Study Of An Investigational Drug For People At Risk For Severe Covid-19

Description

Seeking people aged 12 and older who have COVID-19 and are at high risk for the COVID-19 infection to progress to severe disease for a study of an investigational drug.

Overview

Participants in this study will be randomly assigned to get either the investigational drug or a placebo (looks like the drug but contains no medicine). The investigational drug or placebo are tablets that need to be swallowed whole twice a day for 5 days. Participants may also take a COVID-19 medicine such as paxlovid if the study doctor thinks it is right for them. There will be 6 study visits over 6 months. Four of the visits will be in the first two weeks of the study.

What we're hoping for

We are studying whether an investigational drug is safe and effective in helping people aged 12 and older who have a COVID-19 infection and are at risk of getting very sick get better and stay out of the hospital.
