Study Comparing Chemotherapy Before Vs. After Surgery For Incidental Gallbladder Cancer

Description

Seeking adults newly diagnosed with incidental gallbladder cancer for a study comparing chemotherapy treatment with gemcitabine and cisplatin before vs. after cancer removal surgery.

Overview

Participants will be randomly assigned to get chemotherapy starting either before or after their cancer removal surgery. The chemotherapy is given as an IV infusion on two days a week apart on 21-day cycles. After treatment, follow-up visits will be every 3 months for 2 years and then every 6 months.

What we're hoping for

We are studying whether providing chemotherapy treatment with gemcitabine and cisplatin before cancer removal surgery is better, worse or the same as providing the chemotherapy after surgery.
