Study Of An Investigational Wearable Device For Early Detection Of Heart Failure

Description

Seeking men and women admitted to UMass Memorial for heart failure for a study of an investigational device worn as a vest that may be able to detect a buildup of fluid in the lungs to provide an early diagnosis of heart failure.

Overview

Participants in this study will be fitted with the vest for 10 minutes while in the emergency room and then in the hospital prior to discharge and will be asked to wear to the vest daily for 5-10 minutes for at least 30 days following hospital discharge.

What we're hoping for

We are studying whether an investigational device to detect buildup of fluid in the lungs and an early diagnosis of heart failure by asking people admitted to the emergency department for heart failure to wear the vest for up to 45 days.
