Study Of Saliva, Blood, Hair, And Skin Samples From People With Cutaneous Lupus To Predict Risk Of Systemic Lupus

Description

Seeking adults diagnosed with skin-limited lupus (cutaneous lupus erythematosus or CLE) for a study collecting blood and skin samples to better predict the risk of progression to systemic disease (systemic lupus erythematosus or SLE).

Overview

Participants in this study will answer 5-minute online surveys weekly, 20-minute surveys every 3 months on an app. They will also be mailed a do-it-yourself sample collection kit to collect saliva, blood, skin, and hair samples. The kits will be sent for collection of samples every 3 months for 5 years. Participants may also enroll in an option

What we're hoping for

We hope to identify markers from the skin and blood of patients with skin-limited lupus (cutaneous lupus erythematosus or CLE) that could predict the risk of progression to systemic disease (systemic lupus erythematosus or SLE).
