Study Of An Electronic Tool To Prevent Suicide

Description

Seeking men and women who have been determined to be at risk for suicide during a visit to the UMass Memorial emergency department for a study of an investigational electronic tool to aid in assessing suicide risk and developing a safety plan to prevent suicide.

Overview

Participants in this study will be randomly assigned to receive either the standard care for suicidal patients along with the investigational electronic tool or the standard care alone. Participants will be contacted 5 times over a year by phone and asked to complete a health survey.

What we're hoping for

We are hoping that an investigational electronic tool to assess suicide risk and develop a safety plan will help reduce suicide.
