Study Of An Investigational Cell Therapy For Systemic Lupus Erythematosus That Is Affecting The Kidneys

Description

Seeking men and women whose Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is causing damage to their kidneys (refractory lupus nephritis) for a study of an investigational cell therapy

Overview

Participants in this study will have their blood cells collected for use in making the investigational drug using apheresis, where blood is collected from one arm, separated into red and white blood cells so that the white blood cells can be collected, and then returned to your body through the other arm. The Investigational drug will be given as an infusion. After the infusion, participants will need to stay in the hospital where they can be monitored for at least 10 days.

What we're hoping for

We are studying an investigational drug made using a person's own immune cells to see if it is safe and if it reduces the number of B cells to normal levels in people whose lupus has not responded to standard treatments.
