Study Of An Investigational Treatment Combination For Stage 3 Or 4 Head And Neck Cancer

Description

Seeking men and women with stage III or IV head and neck cancer for a study comparing two treatment options following tumor removal surgery.

Overview

Participants in this study will be randomly assigned to get either radiation therapy only or radiation combined with chemotherapy. All participants will have their tumor biopsy samples tested for TP53 gene mutations. Participants may also choose to have their blood or tumor biopsies saved for future research.

What we're hoping for

We are evaluating radiation only versus radiation with chemotherapy for treatment of head and neck cancer after tumor removal surgery to see if TP53 gene mutations in the tumor affect which treatment works better.
