Study Of A Device To Reduce Pain For Newborns During Hepatitis B Vaccination

Description

Seeking newborns who will be vaccinated against Hepatitis B for a study of a device to reduce pain during the injection.

Overview

Babies in this study will be randomly assigned to either use of the small plastic device pressed on the skin at the location of the injection or swaddling in a blanket. The baby's heart rate and oxygen level will be measured throughout the vaccination with a device placed on their hand or foot.

What we're hoping for

We are studying whether a small plastic device pressed on the skin at the location of injection during vaccination of a baby against Hepatitis B is effective in reducing pain.
