Study Of Deep Brain Stimulation Effect On Voice For People Being Treated For Essential Tremor

Description

Seeking men and women with dystonia and essential tremor undergoing deep brain stimulation (DBS) for a study to better understand laryngeal dystonia (LD) and voice tremor (VT), which are neurological conditions causing abnormal voice and speech control.

Overview

Participants in this study will have a neurological exam, have their voice recorded and imaging of their vocal cords before deep brain stimulation (DBS) and again 9 months after DBS.

We are studying the effect of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) on voice for people being treated for dystonia and essential tremor
