Study Of Use Of A Cpap Machine Following Stroke Or Transient Ischemic Attach (Tia)

Description

Seeking men and women who have had a recent stroke or transient ischemic attach (TIA) often called a "mini-stroke" for a study of the benefits of using a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine while sleeping.

Overview

Participants in this study will be tested to see if they have obstructive sleep apnea by wearing device at night. Participants who have sleep apnea will either get the standard stroke treatment or have the CPAP machine and sleep coaching added to the standard treatment. There will be 2 office visits over the 6 months

What we're hoping for

This research study is designed to test whether people with recent stroke or transient ischemic attach (TIA) benefit from continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine use while sleeping.
