Study Of Pneumonia In Adults 65 And Older

Description

Seeking men and women aged 65 and older who have been hospitalized for what may be pneumonia for a study of the effectiveness of vaccines against pnuemonia.

Overview

Particpants in this study do not have to have been vaccinated against pneumonia and will not be vaccinated as part of this study. They will be interviewed about their medical and vaccination history and will provide a urine sample. Results of x-rays and blood and other samples collected as part of regular care will be reviewed.

What we're hoping for

We are studying seniors aged 65 and older who are believed to have pneumonia and may or may not have been vaccinated against pneumonia to assess the effectiveness of vaccines against pneumonia.
