Conquering Diseases

A Study To Determine If Participants With A Certain Cancer Can Stop Taking A Specific Medication (Aaml18p1)

Description

Seeking male and female participants under the age of 25, who were diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia before the age of 18, to determine if they can stop taking their TKI medication and remain in remission as well as if restarting TKI will re-achieve remission.

Overview

In this study we will ask participants to stop taking their TKI medication and will ask them to come in regularly to monitor their disease status. If at any point the disease returns, we will restart their medication and further monitor their disease status. This study will include blood draws, questions, and other assessments.

What we're hoping for

The overall goals of this study are to determine if participants can stop taking their TKI medication and remain in remission and if those who restart TKI will re-achieve remission.
