Conquering Diseases

Portable Hyperspectral Imaging (Hsi) Study

Description

Seeking Men and Women 18 years or older who are having an operation that will require the creation of a flap of tissue (where a piece of skin/muscle is taken from one part of the body and moved to another part), or because you have a traumatic degloving injury (an injury where the skin is torn away from the tissue underneath).

Overview

The goal of this research is to determine if a device called a hyperspectral imaging (HSI) device can be easily used to monitor the health of a skin flap after injury or surgery.

What we're hoping for

This study will help us to gain knowledge that may help patients who have a surgery or injury that creates a flap have a better outcome in the future.
