Study Of Biomarkers In Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy (Fshd)

Description

Seeking adults aged 18 and older who either have Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy (FSHD) or are healthy volunteers for a study to identify genetic biomarkers for the disease and better understand what causes it, and why symptoms vary widely among people who have it.

Overview

Participants in the study will be asked to provide a blood and/or saliva sample. A small number or participants will also be given the opportunity to provide a muscle and skin biopsy.

What we're hoping for

We are collecting blood and/or saliva samples from people for DNA analysis to better understand how the genetic disease Facioscapulohumeral Dystrophy (FSHD) is caused and why symptoms vary among people who have the disease.
