Study Of The Long-Term Effects On Memory And Thinking In Older Adults Hospitalized For Covid-19

Description

Seeking men and women aged 50 and older hospitalized with pneumonia caused by a COVID-19 infection for a study of the long-term effects of COVID-19 on memory and thinking.

Overview

After discharge from the hospital, participants in this study will come back to UMass for 5 different study visits over 2 years for a physical exam, cognitive testing and a blood draw. Two of the visits will be longer and include an MRI scan of your brain.

What we're hoping for

We hope to better understand how inflammation caused by COVID-19 infection might impact memory and thinking.
