Study Comparing Two Drugs To Sedate Children For Surgery To Prevent Emergence Delirium

Description

Seeking children who have been referred for outpatient ear surgery for a study comparing two drugs for managing pain and preventing emergence delirium when they are waking up from anesthesia following surgery.

Overview

Participants in this study will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two drugs to manage pain. We will collect information about their pain and recovery in the hospital and call home within 3 days following discharge to see how they are doing.

What we're hoping for

We are studying two drugs to see how they compare at managing pain and preventing emergence delirium when waking up from anesthesia in children having ear surgery.
