Study Of Ultraviolet Light On Inflammatory Or Autoimmune Skin Diseases

Description

Seeking men and women with or without an inflammatory skin disease ( such as cutaneous lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis, atopic dermatitis, alopecia areata, scleroderma, eczema, psoriasis, vitilago, or drug hypersensitivity) for a study to learn more about skin diseases and their response to light.

Overview

Participants in this study will have a physical exam, answer questions about your quality of life, have photographs taken of your skin, provide small skin samples, and provide a blood sample. Some participants will also have up to nine 15-30 minute sessions where your skin would be exposed to UV light.

What we're hoping for

We are studying what types of immune cells start different types of autoimmune skin diseases and how different skin disorders respond to UV light.
