Study Of An Investigational Drug Added To Chemotherapy For Metastatic Colon Cancer

Description

Seeking men and women aged 18 and older with colon or rectal cancer than has spread to other parts of their body (metastatic) for a study of an investigational drug added to the standard chemotherapy treatment.

Overview

Participants in this trial will be randomly assigned to get either the investigational drug or a placebo (looks like the drug but contains no medication). All participants will receive the standard chemotherapy and bevacizumab treatment for metastatic colorectal cancer.

What we're hoping for

We are studying whether adding an investigational drug to chemotherapy for colon or rectal cancer that has spread to other parts of the body will help protect bone marrow from damage by chemotherapy, prevent fatigue, and improve cancer control.
