Stop Ra: A Study For Patients At Risk Of Developing Rheumatoid Arthritis

Description

This study is looking at a preventative medication for patients at risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis.

Overview

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) causes pain, swelling, stiffness and loss of joint function, and is one of the most disabling forms of arthritis. RA is typically treated only after diagnosis. This study is trying to determine if taking an investigational medication daily for 1 year will prevent patients from developing RA. Patients will be randomly assigned to receive the study medication or a placebo (an inactive substance).

What we're hoping for

We hope this experimental medication can prevent patients from developing rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
