Study Comparing Pain Management For Spinal Fusion Surgery

Description

Seeking men and women who are planning spinal fusion surgery for a study comparing two methods of post-operative pain management.

Overview

Participants in this study will be randomly assigned to get either the standard IV pain management medications only or a the standard pain medication and a local anesthetic injection to the muscles in the lower back.

What we're hoping for

We are studying whether adding a local anesthetic injection to the standard pain medications following spinal fusion therapy reduces the need for opioid pain management and provides better pain control than the standard pain management alone.
