Role Of Cd8+T Cells In Immunopathogenesis Of Me/Cfs

Description

We are seeking healthy adult male and female volunteers who may have been previously infected with a number of viruses to provide blood, oral, and nasal samples. We want to develop new ways to detect and measure viruses, and study the way the immune system fights infection of viruses.

Overview

Participants in this study will have blood drawn and may also provide saliva using an oral wash and skin cells from inside their nose using a nasal wash. We may also do optional genetic testing on these samples. These techniques may be used to investigate how the immune system of a person infected with one of a number of different viruses responds to infection with other viruses or routine immunizations.

What we're hoping for

The goal of this research is to develop new ways to detect and measure viruses and to study the way the immune system fights infection of viruses.
