Study Of An Investigational Drug To Improve Pain Management Following Total Shoulder Replacement Surgery

Description

We are seeking men and women who will be undergoing total shoulder replacement surgery for a study comparing post-surgery pain between people who have the investigational drug added to the usual nerve block to people who just have the usual nerve block.

Overview

We are studying whether adding an investigational drug to the usual nerve block during total shoulder replacement surgery will make the nerve block last longer and improve pain control after surgery. Volunteers for this study will be randomly assigned to get either the usual nerve block or the usual nerve block and the investigational drug.

What we're hoping for

We hope that the investigational drug will reduce pain following total shoulder replacement surgery.
