Conquering Diseases

Alcoholic Hepatitis Network Observational Study

Description

Seeking healthy volunteers who either drink less than 1 drink per week on average or at least 3 drinks per day for a study collecting biological samples (blood, urine, and stool) and health information to better understand alcoholic hepatitis.

Overview

We are collecting biological samples from people who either drink less than 1 drink per week or drink at least 3 alcoholic drinks per day but don't have liver disease. We will use the biological samples (blood, urine and stool) and medical history data to try to understand why some people develop alcoholic hepatitis and others don't and why the disease is more severe for some people than others.

What we're hoping for

We hope to better understand why some people develop alchoholic hepatitis and why the disease affects people differently.
