Conquering Diseases

A Study Of Cancer Tumors (Avatar)

Description

This study is collecting tumor tissue, body fluids and blood samples from patients undergoing biopsies or surgery to gain a better understanding of different cancers.

Overview

The purpose of this study is to collect tumor, blood samples and body fluids to look at genes and proteins to see how they affect health and change in patients with cancer. Genes can tell us a person’s risk for certain diseases and how they will respond to treatment. A tumor’s genes and the proteins it makes may also suggest ways to detect cancer earlier and better target treatments.

What we're hoping for

We’re hoping the samples collected for this study will allow us to learn more about cancer’s behavior, growth and how it responds to new potential treatments.
