A Multicenter Access And Distribution Protocol For Cryopreserved Cord Blood Units

Description

Men and women over 16 years old undergoing transplantation with unlicensed CBUs (cord blood units) will be enrolled. Cord blood units not meeting FDA requirements or not yet approved by the FDA may be used for transplant if the transplant is done as part of a study.

Overview

The primary purposes of this study is to: • Provide access to cord blood units for recipients whose best choice for a cord blood unit(s) do not meet all FDA standards, but do meet standards set by the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) on this study. • Assess how well and how quickly blood counts return to normal after transplant in recipients on this study.

What we're hoping for

To see if the number of white blood cells increases, and to evaluate the frequency of transmission of infections and serious infusion reactions with cord blood unit transplantations..
